In contrast to the Ortofon Concorde cartridges optimised for DJ applications, the Ortofon Concorde R 10 is the perfect hi-fi cartridge for turntable legends such as the Technics SL 1210, other DJ turntables and hi-fi turntables with 52mm overhang.
Uncomplicated mounting on the tonearm thanks to the SME bayonet connection, no need to adjust the cartridge.
This is a special Ortofon model, produced exclusively for Thakker.
The Concorde R 10 uses the improved generator known from the Ortofon 2M Blue.
This achieves an improved output power of 5.5 mV with full playback and high sound accuracy.
The development of the Concorde R
A successor model to the successful original Concorde from 1979, with a genuine state-of-the-art hi-fi generator, seemed to us at Thakker to be a clearly perceptible need of many vinyl fans for some time.
When we expressed our ambitious wish to Ortofon in the summer of 2019 to be able to offer a real hi-fi system in the popular, classic Concorde format again on a permanent basis, the idea immediately met with an open ear in Nakskov.
After a very short development period, the small-series Concorde R model was born (R stands for retro). By November of the same year, the first systems were ready for use with domestic record players. Since then, the Concord R has been an exclusive and permanent part of the Thakker portfolio.
With a fixed overhang of 52mm and the 1/2 inch bayonet connection, the Concorde R offers the simplest conceivable option for enjoying real hi-fi sounds in a classic design on relevant turntables from Technics and the like. Many of these turntables have long since ceased to be used solely as DJ workstations, but are once again fulfilling their original audiophile purpose in many domestic phono chains.
The system, which is supplied with the Ortofon Stylus 10 (elliptical diamond, tipped) as standard, offers a wide range of upgrade options. As with all obsessions, the demands on the material grow with increasing passion.
With a simple, quick change, a naked elliptical diamond, a naked diamond with Fine Line cut and a naked diamond with Fritz Gyger 70 cut are also available with the 20, 30 and 40 needles and unleash further performance reserves in the Concord R. This means that every personal taste can be catered for.
This means that a suitable needle insert is available for every personal taste.
